Meet Alana (@alanabeale)

Growing up in Hawai'i, Alana practically lived in a bikini. Swimsuit modeling opportunities were everywhere – and she got her start at just four years old. Here, we chat about how the beachfront backdrop has influenced her lifestyle, beauty routine, and more.

What’s your favorite summertime activity?

“I love meditating; it’s a huge part of how I live my life. Also, I l enjoy anything to do with being outdoors – going to the beach, exploring new places, hiking to waterfalls. It’s funny, I grew up in Hawai’i, but there’s always a new jungle realm I haven’t explored yet. There are so many undiscovered gems.”

What’s your summertime makeup look?

“I keep my makeup minimal in Hawai’i, because you never know where the day will take you. I might end up jumping in the ocean – and high-drama makeup would get messy. So, for day, I stick to concealer and powder. If I’m going out at night, I love winged liquid liner.”

We got nothing. Try again.

What’s your on-the-go curly hair regimen?

“I’m all about air-drying. For the best definition, I style it when it’s soaking wet. So, I don’t wet it in the shower – I actually stick my head under the sink faucet right before I’m ready to leave. Then, I put in some product, throw my curls in a bun, and when I get to wherever I’m going, I take it down and fluff it out."

What are your favorite air-dry must-haves?

“Humidity is my biggest battle. In a tropical environment like Hawaii, I wake up and my hair is immediately frizzy. So I’m really into the Bb.Curl Anti-Humidity Gel-Oil – it gives great volume (not frizzy volume; defined volume). If my hair is feeling really dry, I’ll cocktail it with Bb.Curl Custom Conditioner for extra moisture.”
